Colorado West Quilters' Guild bylaws
The 2008 Challenge "Brainy Baby/Smart Art" was held on February 13, 2008,
and the quilts were hung on display at Hi Fashion Fabrics during March.

The Challenge Guild Viewers' Choice winners were:
First Place: "From Fuzzy to Fly" by Shirley Jackson
Second Place: "Kid Clothes" by Marla Ferguson
Third Place: "Space Dudes" by Mary Hussman
Honorable Mentions went to Judy Moeny and Sherida Warner.

PROGRAM PREVIEWS
January 14 - Rachel Fry will do a program on using Cameo Paints in quilts.
She is a local member of SSQ and she will do a trunk show and talk.
February 11 - Vera Mulder from Fruita will give a presentation called
"Through the Eye of Mulder."
March 11 - Jan Rickman will review the texturing and free-motion stitching
techniques that she will be teaching in the December Art Center workshop.
She will show samples of the various techniques and explain the process.
March 28th - our annual Spring Retreat held at at the First Presbyterian Church,
3940 27 Road, Grand Junction, CO. A half day class is $7.00, full day class $14.00.
Each class will be taught by a Colorado West Quilters Guild member.
Lunch will be provided at no fee to all class members and instructors as a part of the retreat.
Class sign-ups will be taken at the January, February and March meetings.
April 8 - Barbara Broshous - "Stepping Up to the Challenge".
Barbara is a CQC and NQA judge and quilter from Colorado Springs.
Stepping out of one's comfort zone, being willing to try new things, rely on one's creativity.
The message is 'adventurousness pays' for those willing to push the envelope.
November - our 2009 Quilt Show held at at the Art Center.
Entry forms for the Show must be submitted in September with a $5.00 entry fee per item.

We will have two speakers on November 14, 2009 at the Art Center.
At 10:00 AM Deborah Snider will give a lecture, "Shear Joy, A Woman's Love of Fabric".
At 2:00 PM Linda Jenkins from Piece O'Cake will give a lecture and trunk show.
